on a better note

This made me laugh. He is very good with photo manipulation using Photoshop. I especially like the animal/animal and human/animal ones.

what follows is a rant

I must state up front that I love Windows XP. It is the best OS to come out of Redmond ever. But sometimes, you come across things that make you say, “What were they thinking?” Now I know that in the continuous cycle of computer upgrades, some things become obsolete. But I don’t like it when it is forced. For instance, in XP, you can no longer switch to a resolution below 800×600, or a color depth below 16bits (KB286906).

With out giving it too much thought, it sounds reasonable, as pretty much all computers capable of running XP will meet or exceed those limitations. Well, read on, dear reader.

Check out my laptop screenshots to see how much I love eye candy. Just had to share with everyone as Renee is getting a little tired of me continuously showing her my desktop.

i think liberals disgust me..

I’ve always been pretty concerned with local politics and not too much with national politics. I guess it stems from hearing my parents talk about local issues a lot more than national issues growing up. Well, as I’m entering into this very unforgiving adult world, I’m beginning to pay a little more attention to politics. Not because I’m becoming more political, but because I can’t believe some of the people out there who are allowed to have voter registration cards. That maybe too strong a choice of words, but read on.

Ran across this site by way of Jack’s, and it just bewilders me. She seems like a fairly educated, yet believes this crap.

To completely blame the President, regardless of party, for what goes on in the country while they are in office is just stupid. But it is becoming apparent that liberals do it all the time. Especially this year, and against Republicans. WTF?!

sad, but true

Read an article that I think pretty much hits the nail on the head, although, I wish it didn’t. Basically IT as we’ve known it, filled with computer geeks and tech heads, is going away. IT has matured enough, that people in the field need to be more knowledgable on business practices and processes if one wants to succeed. The pure IT jobs, you know the ones where you get your hands dirty, will continue to go to kids and cert-only guys.

I was hopeing that I could stay an IT grease monkey, and let someone else handle the business side of things. Alas, I doubt we’d be able to surive on the salary those jobs would bring in.
