what it means to be american
Ran across this bit about the Shoe Bomber on chronicles of m by way of The Jack Blog. I remember hearing a little blurp about it in the news, but nothing real big. It is a transcript between Reid and Judge Young in which Judge Young explains what it means to be American. He really hits it on the head.
a life update
For those of you keeping score, give one to “that’s life”. Last Sunday, Renee, Corbin, and I were in a car accident. The only injury, luckly, is my foot, which got banged up a bit. No broken bones, just bruies, thank god. The car, on the other hand, didn’t fare too well. Pictures will be forth coming, once we get them developed. I hate having to use old technology like 35mm film.
whats going on
Well, some of you (do I really have any readers?) may be wondering whats going on since I last posted we would be moving to Virginia. I don’t want to say too much right now, but suffice it to say I don’t think we’ll be moving now. I’ll post more once I can figure it out myself…
its been a while I know…
Don’t lecture me, I’ve been busy.
After watching one of those high-school-coming-of-age movies (Girl Next Door) tonight, it got me thinking of my early days. In particular this one teacher I had, Kevin Mcllvain. He taught fine arts, which at our school was just called art. Probably one of the only teachers I had that I would care to say I was inspired by.
I know, it sounds cheesy but hey. So I got to thinking: It would be great if I could go talk with him. See how things are. Let him know how cool he was. So I pull up my high school’s staff web page, and to my surprise he isn’t listed. Crafting a clever google search string (and I do mean clever, as I couldn’t remember his last name and when I did how to spell it exactly) I find he left in 2001.
