First Impressions of KDE4
Well, installation was a breeze. In fact with the move to cmake, compiling the masked ebuilds of KDE4 took only a few hours! Wow. Overall it is great. However, one must remember that really just the core of KDE4 is production ready. The surounding applications that make up the remander of the desktop are still in there infancy. I get several graphic artifacts, flickering widgets, and the like from time to time. But its really all worth it.
KDE4

KDE’d Firefox
I love firefox, but hate it’s GTK’ish interface in KDE. The Gentoo Wiki comes to the rescue by giving Firefox a make-over: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Integrate_Firefox_with_KDE.
Stir Crazy
Its snowing again. I think cabin fever is starting to set in. Of course it could be worse; we could have 12 feet of snow. I shouldn’t complain, we only have a few inches. I just hate driving in it with all the dumb Columbus drivers. Hmmph.
Jack pointed out that Netflix does have multiple personalities, called profiles. I promptly set up one for Renee. Now to get her to use it…
Main reason I don’t want it to snow is I don’t want anything to stand in my way of getting the Q. After much debate, I think it makes a better investment than simply replacing the battery in my mobile
. I’m a little worried that I won’t be able to sync with Kontact though. But I figure it will come and shouldn’t let that hold me up.
